The state educational grant is the target amount of funds from the republican budget to pay for vocational education.
The competition for awarding educational grants is conducted by the Commission, established by the authorized education body, which is currently the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
State educational grants are provided on a competitive basis for specified majors, language departments and modes of study in accordance with the points gained by applicants after passing a unified national testing (UNT) or complex testing (CT) according to the order of specialties announced by them. After awarding of such grant a certificate of awarding educational grant is issued. In order to take part in the contest for a state educational grant, applicant must apply to the Admission Committee from July 23 to July 31.
